Painting without feet.
Painting without feet.
2012

I broke my foot and suddenly realized just how much I move around when I paint. The only way to continue working was to put everything on the floor, accept that my zen meditation cushions were going to become more colorful in the line of duty, and work up close. I tell myself that Michelangelo didn't climb up and down the ladder at the Sistine Ceiling, questioning every stroke he made. He had to decide on his intent, just do it, and believe in what he was doing.
