I plopped this brush in a jar of water and then forgot about it for a month. I guess it is a sculpture now.
I have a habit of making little shrines with numinous objects. I don't know exactly what they are shrines to or why I choose the objects I choose. My painting depends a great deal on combining analytical thought with allowing my body and intuition to "speak" through action. Analytical thought is by far the easier thing to do. It's scary to allow something to come out of the dark of one's subliminal mind and make marks with conviction while one's conscious mind is trailing behind saying "But I don't understand why.........." Making little shrines is one of the ways I practice this active form of not-knowing.
